The BMS exists to promote and present varied concerts of fine chamber music, performed by international artists, in York, England.
The BMS organises chamber music concerts in York by internationally recognised performers. There are six concerts every year from October through to March, all in the Sir Jack Lyons Concert Hall, University of York. You can buy tickets for individual concerts, or alternatively why not join? Membership entitles you to entry to all six concerts, and is considerably cheaper than buying individual tickets. We are a large and friendly society, and welcome new members to join in our enjoyment of the music and meet each other in a relaxed atmosphere.
The complete programme for the season features six concerts. Tickets are available by subscription for the season, or for individual concerts.
The society has a long and interesting history; programme details for some previous concert seasons are also available here.

The BMS manages to maintain the high standard of its concerts largely through the generosity of its Patrons. Without their gifts to the Society, many of them covenanted, we could not hope to balance our books. Patrons who donate more than £50 per year are allowed to reserve a seat if they so request.
Seats may also be reserved at our concerts by members, at a cost of £30 per member. Seating at our concerts is otherwise unreserved.
If you would like to become a Patron, or have any other questions, all correspondence should please be addressed to Secretary, The Poplars, Newton upon Derwent, York, YO41 4DA.
